[Kouki’s been sick for the past couple of days, and Atsuro’s pretty sure that eating the same thing every day must be boring. Koubro needs better than that though! And seeing as how Atsuro does know how to cook—thanks to him living alone back at home—he figured he may as well try to mix things up by making something himself. …Except even if he does know how to cook, it’s not like he can pull a dish out of thin air. He needs a recipe to (religiously) follow so he doesn’t screw up…! As such, he goes ahead and makes a short voice entry.]

Hey guys! Do any of you happen to know of any good soup recipes? Especially ones that are good for when people are sick. I’d like to find a few, so if any of you could suggest some, that’d be great.

[Not long after making the journal entry, Atsuro can be found walking around the plaza for a bit. He may head on over to the library for a bit first, but then he goes ahead to pick up food and ingredients for Koubro’s food, and just for the apartment in general. After then, he goes to the bakery, and then back home to community building 7. Feel free to bump into him!]

Just something quick. [this is not really something quick. At least, for someone who's not used to cooking. He looks over at Atsuro.] You need the kitchen too?

[a nod.] Yep. Kou's been sick, so I figured I may as well make him something so he doesn't have to eat the same thing every day.

Sounds like a good plan.

[cooking for someone else, huh... It's been a while since he's gotten to do that.]

[Atsuro normally doesn't. Back at home, it had just been him so he only had to cook for himself. It's a little different here though, and even more so since his friend's sick now.

But yes! He'll.. go ahead and start setting everything up so he can prepare some vegetable stew that most people had been mentioning dododo.]

[and Ayumu's just cooking away. Though if he spots Atsuro doing anything too strange with his ingredients....]

[Well considering how simple this soup recipe and its procedure are, he shouldn't be doing anything too strange with them, besides possibly chopping these carrots into pieces that are way too thick.]

[Oh.. he notices.]

Hey... those won't cook right if you don't cut them smaller.

Oh, you think these are too big?

[...well crap! 8| It's kind of difficult to keep them consistently thin though. um.]

[hand over the knife, Kihara. He'll show you how to chop a carrot, quickly and efficiently.]

[Fine fine! Here you go, Chef Ayumu. Teach him your cooking ways...]

[He's no chef, just a guy who can cook.] Just try and space it more evenly. If they're the same size they'll all cook the same.

[Close enough! ..But that does make sense. Has he been doing it wrong all these years?!] Hmm... Alright then. I'll try to do that.

And you might want to add some more spice. [yeah now he's going to critique everything about your recipe atsuro sorry]

[well as long as it actually tastes better and Koubro likes it, it's cool.] You think so? What kind?

Maybe some of this.. [grabbing random spices from the spice rack. And then.... kind of pushing Atsuro out of the way of the pot.

[Wow rude-- At this point, it's more like Atsuro isn't making it at all...! Not that he minds though. But he'll just watch closely and learn yep.]

[huh. well...] I don't mind it. It used to be just me at home so I had to learn.

Oh, really? Why was that? [Ayumu does look somewhere around Atsuro's age, so...]

My parents work overseas. They're always sending home boxes from places I've never heard of... [he doesn't seem that concerned about it, though.]

Woah, you too? [...Somehow it's kind of cool to hear that! Since it is similar to Atsuro's situation at home and all...] What kind of work do they do?

They don't really tell me much. [~~since I don't know. they're clearly secret agents or something.~~] But yours are overseas too?

[~~oh snap~~ He nods.] Yep. They're engineers, and they moved away to Silicon Valley while I was in elementary school and have been there ever since.

[wow wait.] Seriously? Since elementary school? [his at least waited until middle before he was stuck alone...]

Yep. [He scratches his hat sheepishly. gosh everyone asks that!] My English isn't too good, so I decided to stay behind.
