[So! June 11! It's a very special day for Atsuro. Well, it should be, anyway. He doesn't pay much mind to it. But today marks the eighteenth anniversary of his coming out of his Wi-Fi-lacking nerdlinger womb. Of course, he finds the day no different from yesterday, but the thought of him being eighteen is still kinda weird.

But that matters not. What interests him more are the results of some of his findings after examining Hiro's cell phone and comparing its demon-summoning application to the one on his COMP. Seeing as how demons can't actually be summoned here, he couldn't find much, but the few things he did discover were pretty interesting and got him wondering about some ~things~. So sometime around noon he'll throw up a voice entry asking about said things.]

Yo, Luceti! I've got a question for you all. So lots of people here have creatures other than animals in their home worlds, right? I was wondering if any of you could tell me about them, especially if they can be, er... summoned. If not, that's fine too. I'm just kinda curious. Thanks!

In my home world, there were two parts. Naraka, where humans live, and Devaloka, where the Devas, or gods, lived. 'Lived' because it's destroyed now because of one dumbass who used the Manifest for the wrong reasons. A lot of the gods had something special about them, whether is was the power of the harvest or insight or even just great strength - there was even a god who could create talking weapons that everyone fought for - but I don't know if any of them could summon demons.

[hold on bird break--]

[Whew. Okay. Bird shut up. Second coming.]

The souls of the gods could never really die like humans can, they're just reborn. So each time a god died they just came back as a baby and grew up without memories of their past life. There was a big group of gods that abused their power and were banned from Devaloka, so they were tossed down onto Naraka and became the first humans there. I guess when they died there, they couldn't be reborn again and just... rotted.

[...Devas. Huh. Wow Atsuro's glad he asked this question, since it seems like a lot of worlds have things similar to his.

Just... rotted, huh? That sounds like a pretty sad way of putting it, really. [A pause as he muses over something. hmmm.] Do you happen to know why those Devas existed in the first place?

Because the Primeval Giant was lonely. He wanted company, so he created the Devas from everything - the earth, water, flowers, all sorts of stuff - and as time went on everyone got their special roles. Especially after those greedy ones were banished from Devaloka and they prayed to the heavens for forgiveness.

[It's a little hard to piece all of this together without knowing some of the background of some of these terms, so...]

So.. who exactly is this Primeval Giant guy then?

The creator of Naraka and Devaloka. When he created the Devas, he left one final gift for them in the form of the Manifest: a power so great it grants the user's desires. With some conditions. No one really knows what the Primeval Giant looked like, except maybe the dragon Vrtra, but I think he's just a really big guy.

You're probably going to need to explain some of those terms to me, haha... [Otherwise he's a bit lost..]

The Manifest?

[Sigh.]

The Manifest is a huge amount of power the Primeval Giant left the world after creating it that could grant the user's wish. There was a requirement to using it though, that being you had to use it with someone you could call your other half. So if you wanted to create a new world, the person you're doing it with would have to have that want in their heart too. Anything else and it would backfire.

[It's actually a bit like a marriage ceremony.]

[Which.. Atsuro will kind of point out?!]

With your 'other half'? Putting it that way, it sounds kind of like marriage, or something along those lines.

I guess it is something like that. But it was mostly just a safeguard against misusing the power of the Manifest with one person. If two people had to use it, there was less of a chance of messing up because they'd both have to trust each other and all.

Oh. So it's kind of just a balance-in-power sort of thing?

Yeah, basically. Why're you so interested in hearing about demons and summoning and stuff anyway?

Oh, well, we have something similar to that back at home, and I found out that my new housemate had something basically like what we had too. So I was curious as to what people in other worlds had as well. From the looks of it, a lot of it is pretty similar to each other.

I wonder why.

[It can't be from a lack of originality, after all.]

Maybe we're all made of the same stuff.

Who knows? I guess ultimately we could be. It's still pretty interesting to think about though, isn't it? I mean, for all of us to come from such different worlds yet have so much in common.

[Stop that nerdbitch getting all philosophical makes Chien feel humbled and that's weird.] They're just legends and stuff, that's all. Stories can be the same no matter where you are.

[NOPE.] Even then though. For us to even have the similar stories and legends like those despite the fact that we come from completely different worlds -- and maybe even galaxies -- is pretty neat.

I guess. It's really no big deal.
